Hello Awesome Backers:
The good news is the books are almost here, but a little delayed. It turns out they arrived in the Port of Long Beach on Thursday, August 8, instead of August 2. Which means they still have to clear customs. The shipper anticipates they will be delivered to me around the 19th, assuming there are no issues like the container being pulled for inspection. (I hate it when that happens.)
In the meantime, those of you who pledged to digital rewards only and have filled out your Backerkit survey, should have received the download links from Backerkit by now. If you've lost the link to your survey, let me know and I'll send it to you. I will not be sending the final notice from Backerkit until I have the books in hand.

Backerkit Surveys Sent!

Hello Awesome Backers:
Backerkit surveys were sent to everyone Saturday night (8/3), so be sure to check your SPAM folder in case you didn't see it. Digital Only rewards will be locked down pretty quickly and you should receive an email from Backerkit with links to download them. If you have any problems, please let me know.
Theoretically, the books should clear customs tomorrow (8/6). When that happens the shipping company will call to arrange delivery. Once the books arrive, I'll send out the final 48 hour Backerkit notice to all physical reward backers for any changes you need to make.
Physical rewards will be shipped in stages. I will be fulfilling them myself this year as it's too hot to have a team work outside, and our house is too small to have extra people (and dogs) inside. We have one dog who is having major surgery today, and the other starts radiation treatment this week as well. So, please bear with me.
PUZZLES: For those who ordered a puzzle, they were mailed out today separately from the books.

Backerkit Smoke Test Surveys Sent

Hello Awesome Backers:
I sent out a small portion of the surveys tonight. Backerkit calls this a "Smoke Test." This allows me to see if there are any issues and correct them before they are sent to everyone. If all is good, expect to see your survey in your Inbox within the next 48 hours.
Books are scheduled to arrive in port on Friday, Aug. 2. If all goes well with customs, they should arrive at my doorstep by the end of next week or early the following week. I will keep you posted.

I wanted to let you know that the books are scheduled to arrive at the Port of Long Beach on August 2. It usually takes at at least a week or so for them to clear customs and be delivered to me. As usual, I will keep you posted.

Printing Update and Metal Business Cards are In!

Hello Awesome Backers:
I was just informed that the books will be done on June 28. With a four to five week shipping and delivery time added, this puts us at an August delivery. This actually works out well as I was terrified they'd show up while we were at San Diego Comic Con. Whew! And it gives us more flexibility to put together our packing crew. So, things are moving along.
In other good news, the metal business cards are in and they look fabulous!
I can't wait to get these to you. :)
In the meantime, the next few weeks will be busy as I will be at the American Library Association Conference at the end of the month, then San Diego Comic Con. AND, I just found out that I've been accepted at Rose City Comic Con in Portland in September. If you're attending any of these, please be sure to drop by and say hi.
